What is Birckhead Place?

Birckhead is a planned unit development originally designed and platted in 1906. The land was farm and orchard grounds originally owned by the Curtis family. Charles Curtis planned the development as a way to provide his wife with income after he passed away.

Below is a map of the neighborhood. The only entrance is located on Cherry Street, the rest of the neighborhood is surrounded by wrought-iron fence. The numbered spaces are housing lots and the other drawn shapes depict the two parks inside of Birckhead.
